Medicaid Summary

 

According to the Office of Management and Budget of the Executive Branch of the Federal Government, the expenditures for Medicaid went from $201 billion in FY 2008 to $251 billion in FY 2012. By FY2013, these expenditures were $265 billion and constitute 8% of the Federal budget. By 2019, Medicaid expenditures are projected to be $415 billion. This is a 57% increase in just 6 years as more of the population is to be covered under the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Healthcare Reform.
